Job details

New/Renewal Marketing

  • Manage the New/Renewal Process through collaboration with Producer/Account Executive/Client Manager as well as carrier representatives/underwriters
  • Responsible for marketing submissions to carriers, including application preparation, loss analysis, and other pertinent information for submissions
  • Submit to carriers and follow-up to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies  
  • Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverages, terms, pricing, and conditions, which includes making insurance program recommendations
  • Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance
  • Help identify the need for new products and develop innovative solutions for clients
  • Confidently assessing the needs of clients, uncovering coverage gaps, and develop solutions to risk situations
  • Bind coverage for policies as directed by the Producer/Account Executive/Client Manager
  • Coordinate and finalize subjectivities
  • Build and maintain relationships with underwriters and our carrier partners

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain culture of employee ownership – contribute time and support to agency/carrier events or activities that strengthen our culture
  • Accept special assignments as directed by Department Managers
  • Work openly and constructively with team members
  • Represent Christensen Group in the greatest professional and ethical manner possible.
  • Support agency in effectively managing agency/carrier relationships
  • Keep management informed of known actions, written or verbal that may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect the Company operations
  • Follow agency procedures for agency management systems

Job requirements

  • 5 years of experience in business insurance, preferably within the marketing/underwriting capacity (or equivalent), required
  • Candidate must be geographically located in Texas, with a preference for the Austin area
  • Deep understanding of business insurance market/carrier knowledge in Texas, required
  • Possess strong knowledge of insurance, coverage forms, carrier appetites/programs, and the market including financial strength and risk appetite  
  • Self-motivated be mindful of insurance changes and market conditions  
  • Strong ability to influence, coordinate, manage, and negotiate several market strategies simultaneously
  • Technical Expertise; Ability to review contracts and understand exposures and coverages needed
  • CIC/CPCU designation, preferred
  • Microsoft Office experience (strong math and Excel background)
  • Ability to navigate carrier websites, including online rating
  • Ability to multitask
  • Detail-orientated
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Self-starter and problem solver
  • Texas Property and Casualty insurance license required
