Big I MN is excited to announce Jake Olinger of Christensen Group Insurance as the new President. Olinger brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the insurance industry to this leadership role.

Reflecting on his appointment, Olinger shared his enthusiasm: "I am very excited and humbled to be the new Big I President. It is such a great experience to spend time with board members, agents, and partners who are so dedicated and passionate about the insurance industry."

Olinger's insurance career began at the age of 18, encompassing roles from front desk duties to handling Medicare, individual health, group benefits, and commercial insurance. His diverse experiences have given him a unique perspective on the industry. "I have spent time in many roles, but the relationships are by far the most rewarding. I have gained what feels like a lifetime of memories with many wonderful carriers and agents that I now call my friends," he remarked.

Looking ahead, Olinger highlighted the critical issues facing the insurance sector in Minnesota. He noted the dual impact of AI advancements and the increasing sophistication of cyber claims. "This year is going to be as important as ever for insurance in MN. As we make progress with legislation in some areas, new concerns will emerge," he explained. He also emphasized the ongoing adjustments carriers are making to terms and conditions to strive for profitability.

Acknowledging the challenges, Olinger assured members of his commitment to support them through these times. "What I can promise is that I am available to you. I welcome your ideas, would love to be a thought partner for you, and assure you that I am going to work hard to show you the value the Big I MN provides," he stated.

Beyond his professional life, Olinger is dedicated to his family and community. Married to his high school sweetheart, Samantha Olinger, they have three children and enjoy spending time at their cabin on Big Sandy Lake in McGregor. He is also a volunteer firefighter and coaches baseball, football, and hockey.

As he takes on the role of President, Jake Olinger is looking forward to leading Big I MN and supporting its members in navigating the evolving landscape of the insurance industry.
